Shounak Mehta is the Founder and Principal Lawyer at Juriscorp Law Office.
As a results-driven lawyer, Shounak prides himself in taking a thoughtful and analytical approach to problem solving while providing timely guidance to his clients.
Focusing primarily on Real Estate Law and Corporate-Commercial Law, Shounak’s clientele include home builders, franchise owners, medical professionals, individuals, start-ups and corporations.
Shounak takes active part in the growing entrepreneurial community in YEG. He is also a member of diverse business associations related to home builders, the franchise industry and local business communities which gives him a unique perspective and understanding of their respective industries.
Shounak also represents major banking institutions and other lenders in relation to their commercial loan and financing transactions.
His career highlights include appearing in front of the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa, while assisting a renowned Edmonton criminal lawyer, as well as shadowing the former Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta on an arbitration in Calgary.
Shounak is passionate about community involvement and is actively involved in supporting charitable and not-for-profit organizations. He also allocates his personal time for select pro bono work and giving back to his community.
Shounak’s legal career began in 2008 practicing criminal defence law in Mumbai, India after receiving his Bachelor of Legal Sciences and Bachelor of Law from The Government Law College – Asia’s oldest and one of the most prestigious universities.
After immigrating to Canada, Shounak completed his accreditation in Toronto and completed his call to the Alberta Bar in 2014. Together, with his international legal experience and fluency in English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati and Marathi, he quickly gained local knowledge and experience working as an associate with Mr. Charles R. Allard.
In 2016, Shounak founded Juriscorp Law Offices with the support and mentorship of Mr. Allard.
Shounak is happily married and is the proud father of two beautiful children. In his spare time, Shounak enjoys travelling, playing squash, and is an avid golfer.
